Detroit Tennis Club was founded in 1947 by a group of tennis enthusiasts who wanted something specific — not a country club that happened to have courts, not a public park with open access, but a real tennis club. A place built around the game, for people who loved the game.
The club relocated to its current home at 31031 Drake Road in Farmington Hills in 1973, where it has remained ever since. Over more than five decades at this location, DTC has become one of the most established and respected tennis facilities in Michigan — a place where generations of Metro Detroit families have learned the game, competed, and built friendships that have outlasted any match score.
What started as a founding group's vision is today a member-owned club of players across every age and skill level, united by the same thing that brought those original members together: a genuine love of tennis.

The Courts
Thirteen outdoor Har-Tru clay courts and four indoor hard courts — seventeen total. Har-Tru is softer on your joints, rewards strategy and consistency, and delivers a playing experience that hard courts simply cannot match. DTC is one of the only Har-Tru facilities in Farmington Hills.
The Membership
One monthly dues payment. Unlimited court access. The flat-fee unlimited membership model allows members to play as much as they want, whenever they want.
The Community
Courts and membership structures can be replicated. Community cannot. The friendships formed at DTC — the Wednesday morning doubles group, the post-match conversations, the members who have known each other for thirty years — are what people stay for.

Detroit Tennis Club is not a corporate facility, a franchise, or a chain. It is a member-owned club — which means the people who play here are the people who own it, protect it, and decide its future together.
Beginning in your fourth year of membership, DTC members participate in an equity program — $200 per year over ten years — that gives each member a genuine ownership stake in the facility.
When you join DTC, you are not buying access to a service. You are becoming part of something that has been here since 1947 and is built to last another 75 years.
